After a global reveal on Oct. 8, 2025, that announced hundreds of new Keys around the world, our Inspectors’ list of the very best hotels in the United States has been updated with brand new additions and upgrades.
Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys distinguish the most outstanding hotels in our selection. Jump straight to the list or check out some of the highlights of the 2025 United States Key hotels, below.
In our full breakdown of each new Key or upgrade in the United States, we see hotel additions in five categories: the new Two-Key hotels, the countryside escapes, the beach and seaside resorts, the big city stays on the coasts, and the design gems in the South and Midwest.
The new Two Keys, including the Inn at Little Washington in Virginia and the Warren Street Hotel in New York City, will grab the most attention. But throughout the new Keys in the United States, 2025 sees a trend towards bold, rich design in every corner of the country. The highest hotel honor in The MICHLEIN Guide, the United States retains 16 Three-Key hotels in 2025, with the majority in New York and California, and one each in Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Montana and Utah.
The Three-Keys in New York include the Aman New York and Casa Cipriani, both of which make use of glamorous Beaux Arts buildings — the former a gold-crowned skyscraper in Midtown, the latter a glamorously restored ferry terminal at the very southern tip of Manhattan. The Three Keys in California include a nominee for the inaugural MICHELIN Local Gateway Award in Post Ranch Inn, as well as one of the only Three-Key hotels with a Three-Key restaurant in the world: the sublime SingleThread Inn.
The Three Key in Arizona, Canyon Ranch Tucson, was one of five nominees for the inaugural MICHELIN Wellness Award, while the Pray, Montana location of Three-Key Sage Lodge is the luxurious neighbor of Yellowstone National Park.
