BUFFALO, N.Y. — Erie County has issued a travel advisory, beginning at 11am, due to severe winter weather conditions.
Gusty winds combined with incoming snow are forecasted to create extreme whiteout conditions, reduced visibility, and hazardous travel conditions, particularly on major roadways and open areas.

County officials are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel. If travel is required, use caution and allow additional time.
Starting at 11:30 am, all Erie County offices will be closed. All essential employees are still expected to remain at work unless told otherwise.
The Buffalo City Hall will also be implementing an early release at 11:30 am to ensure the safety of staff members and the public. Residents can still conduct city business online at buffalony.gov.
A Travel Advisory has been issued for all of Erie County beginning at 11:00 AM today, Monday December 29.
