Travel + Leisure lauds seven glamping sites Mendocino and Sonoma counties among its 24 best in California.
Three upscale campsites in Mendocino County were among Travel + Leisure’s “24 Best Places to Go Glamping in California.”
Mendocino Grove was noted for its spacious tents and amenities, but also for its array of on-site offerings and activities. They include a dry sauna, bocce and badminton courts, hammocks and board games. The publication in its spring report also named Mendocino Grove the best tourist destination in the state.
In Ukiah, Yokayo Ranch made the cut for its spacious canvas tents nestled together among the trees, as well as its close proximity to many vineyards and tasting rooms.
Oz Farm is a 240-acre glamping site in the county’s city of Point Arena. It made the list primarily for its farm life. The property grows a variety of organic produce, but its apples and pears are the “star of the show.” Oz Farm also is solar- and wind-powered.
Also included in Travel + Leisure’s top 24 glamping sites in California were several in Sonoma County: Wildhaven Sonoma in Healdsburg; AutoCamp Russian River in Guerneville; and Sonoma Treehouse Adventures in Occidental, the latter also ranking as the publication’s best underrated hidden gem.
The River Electric in Guerneville, which opens Memorial Day weekend, also made the list. The property will have 40 luxury tents, two pools, an events space and more. Co-owner Kelsey Sheofsky told the Business Journal in March she sees the River Electric as a social hub, with offerings for everyone— families, people with diverse incomes, social gatherings and corporate groups.
