ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – It’s time to start making plans for summer!
Dozens of exhibitors from across Alaska shared their products at the annual Anchorage Travel Expo at the Dena’ina Center on Wednesday. The event was hosted by Visit Anchorage.
Exhibits included hiking guides, flightseeing, glacier trips, restaurants, museums, and cultural experiences.
Vice President of Communications at Visit Anchorage, Jack Bonney, says it’s a time for travel and tourism groups and Alaskans to learn about vacation opportunities in their own backyard.
“We live in an amazing place. It’s worth remembering that people save and think about a trip to Alaska for their entire lives, and we as residents get to live that experience every day. So it’s really important that we make the most of the place that we’re in,” Bonney said.
Bonney said this is the second time the expo has been open to the public and he’s hopeful it will be every year.
