Samarkand International Airport Expands Connectivity with New Direct Flights to Baku and Krasnoyarsk

Enhanced Air Links Starting April 1, 2025

Samarkand International Airport is set to enhance its regional and international connectivity with the introduction of new direct flights to Baku, Azerbaijan, and Krasnoyarsk, Russia, beginning April 1, 2025. This expansion aligns with the airport’s ongoing growth strategy, further strengthening its position as a key travel hub in Central Asia.

New Flight Services: Connecting Samarkand to Azerbaijan and Russia

  • Baku Route: Operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, this twice-weekly service will run on Wednesdays and Sundays, departing Samarkand at 02:55 AM. The flight duration is approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, offering travelers a convenient link to Azerbaijan’s capital.
  • Krasnoyarsk Route: Ural Airlines will introduce a weekly flight to Krasnoyarsk on Tuesdays, departing Samarkand at 15:00 PM. With a 4-hour journey time, this route provides direct access to the heart of Siberia.

Samarkand’s Growing Aviation Hub

Samarkand International Airport continues to experience remarkable growth, having been recognized as the fastest-growing airport in Europe and Central Asia by the Airports Council International (ACI). In 2024, the airport welcomed 1.38 million passengers, marking a 36.6% increase compared to 2023.
These newly launched routes will not only expand travel options for passengers but also foster stronger cultural, business, and tourism links. Baku, with its extensive network of 75 onward destinations, will serve as a key transit point, while Krasnoyarsk offers travelers access to the stunning landscapes of Siberia.
