Live Wednesday travel updates with delays on M6, A500 and A50 – Stoke-on-Trent Live

Morning commuters are facing delays on major routes in North Staffordshire – including the M6, A50 and A500 this morning. Matters have been worsened on the motorway following a smash near to Junction 15.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix reported how a van was involved in the collision on the northbound stretch with all traffic being temporarily held. While all lanes have been reopened it has resulted in delays.
Elsewhere and this morning there are long delays on the A50 with a travel time of 25 minutes between Meir and Sideway. It's also buy on the A500 at the D-road's two motorway junctions in Hanchurch and Audley.

A lane has been closed on the M6 northbound from Junction 18 to Junction 19 where a vehicle has broken down.
Trains have been delayed in North Staffordshire this morning after a passenger has been taken ill. And the incident has impacted on various services between Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford.
An alert issued by National Rail says the passenger has been taken ill at Stone. As a result some trains could be cancelled, delayed or 'revised'. It is currently impacting operators including Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry and London Northwestern Railway.
A post from National Rail states: "A passenger being take ill at Stone is causing disruption to services running between Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

It's almost 9.30am, but it's still busy on the A50. Travel time from Meir to Sideway is 10 minutes.
There are also delays on the A500 southbound through Hanchurch.
There are two lots of works on the A52 around Werrington and Cellarhead. Temporary lights are running near to Meigh Road until February 21.
There are more by Cellarhead lights, and they could be there until February 7. Both are causing delays this morning.
A stretch of the A34 has been closed in Newcastle due to telecommunications works. It is going on, on the northbound side from Milehouse Lane to Brymbo Road.
