PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – As winter weather continues to blanket the Pine Belt, WDAM 7 is receiving reports of multiple wrecks and traffic alerts.
MDOT has issued an advisory about travel active immediately.
South of the 84 corridor to the Gulf Coast, MDOT is advising emergency travel only because of widespread black ice.
Icing agents will be ineffective due to the extreme cold forecast.

Drivers should use caution on the roads due to low visibility and heavy snow. They should also obey any directions from law enforcement or first responders.
