Sacramento Weather Alert: Dense Fog and Frost Impact Travel Through Monday Morning – Country Herald

Sacramento, CA – Dense fog and widespread frost are impacting Sacramento and the surrounding valley areas this weekend, creating hazardous travel conditions. Visibility is reduced to 0.5 miles in some regions, with patchy frost expected in the early morning hours.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Sacramento, areas of dense fog will persist until 10 a.m. Sunday, with patchy frost forming before 9 a.m. Calm winds will help temperatures reach a high near 56°F during the day. Tonight, temperatures will dip to 34°F, bringing more widespread frost and dense fog after midnight.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, reduce speeds, and use low-beam headlights to navigate foggy conditions safely. The NWS also recommends allowing extra travel time and avoiding sudden stops.
The weather pattern is expected to continue into Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with morning frost and clear skies throughout the day. Daytime highs will climb to 62°F before falling into the mid-30s Monday night.
Frost and fog advisories are typical for the Sacramento Valley in winter, but residents should remain vigilant for potential disruptions through early Tuesday. For updates, visit NWS Sacramento’s website or social media.
