Live Friday rush-hour updates as smash leaves A50 'partially blocked' – Stoke-on-Trent Live

A collision on the A50 is causing delays during this evening's rush-hour. The collision has occurred on the eastbound stretch near to the Lightwood turning.
It comes after the westbound stretch had to be shut off this morning following a smash between a truck and a car. StokeonTrentLive reported how the collision left it 'blocked' with traffic coming to a stop.
We now shift our attention to this evening's rush-hour across North Staffordshire.
We will bring you the latest in our dedicated blog below.
The busy Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge has been left 'partially blocked' due to a smash. It's taken place close to the A50.
A lane has been closed on the M6 southbound between Junction 19 and 18 following a collision.
Here's where else it's busy:
East Midlands Railway and London Northwestern have been forced to make cancellations due to problems with the signals between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent.
The M6 is now clear following this morning's blaze.
A collision between a truck and a car has brought the A50 to a halt in the Potteries. The collision has occurred on the westbound carriageway between Longton and Heron Cross.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting how the stretch is now 'blocked' with traffic at a standstill. Initial alerts stated the smash, which occurred around 8.45am, had left it 'partially blocked'.
However it's now impassable. A live map from National Highways shows stationary traffic all the way back to Meir, with queues spiralling towards Blythe Bridge.
An alert issued by Inrix states: "A50 Westbound blocked, stationary traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved from Cooke Street (Longton) to A5007 Victoria Place Link (Heron Cross / Fenton, Heron Cross). Congestion to before Meir Interchange."

Two lanes remain shut between Junction 14 and 15 following the earlier fire.
Meanwhile a lane is closed on the southbound carriageway between Junction 19 and 18 due to a broken down vehicle.
Emergency services are currently responding to an 'incident' in Stoke-on-Trent which has seen all train lines through the Potteries closed. Passengers are this morning being told that services from a number of operators are affected as emergency crews are at the scene reportedly around Longport.
A post on National Rail's website says 'major disruption' is expected until 11am.
It states: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield/Crewe. To allow them to safely carry out their work, all lines between these stations are currently closed. Trains may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted."
An alert from traffic monitoring site Inrix says the incident is at Longport.
