Parametric insurance specialist Sensible Weather has announced the international expansion of its parametric Weather Guarantee product to a range of hotels across Europe and the Caribbean.
The expansion will be supported through a partnership between Sensible Weather and Aven Hospitality.
The parametric product will be purchasable by travellers booking stays at participating hotels. If unexpected weather, such as rain, occurs during their stay, guests who purchase the coverage will receive an automatic cash reimbursement via PayPal or bank transfer.
The announcement follows a successful rollout of the product across North America since Sensible Weather formed its first strategic hospitality partnership in April 2023.
“Expanding our footprint across Europe and the Caribbean allows us to protect these high-stakes, highly anticipated trips,” said Nick Cavanaugh, CEO and Founder of Sensible Weather. “We’re giving travellers the confidence to book their vacations knowing that if the weather doesn’t cooperate, they will automatically be reimbursed to make the most of their time abroad.”
Ethan Wiseman, Vice President of Product Management for Aven Hospitality, added: “After going live with more than 1,000 properties across North America on day one, our expanded partnership with Sensible Weather underscores how quickly weather protection has evolved from a niche add-on into a core driver of booking performance.”
Sensible Weather also announced the launch of high winds coverage in September 2025.
