In the North East, the weather is expected to be sunny and cloudy with chances of rain showers this morning, according to the Met Office.
Today: A fine, largely settled day with plenty of sunshine. A few early showers will quickly clear southwards, leaving dry conditions. Feeling cool in brisk northerly winds, particularly along coastal areas. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Tonight: Clear overnight skies will allow temperatures to fall away quickly, with a rural frost forming. Cloud will increase from the north early on, introducing some light rain. Winds falling light. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
There are a number of road works currently ongoing in Darlington.
These include temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on Silver Street both ways, traffic taking turns due to electricity work on Wolsingham Terrace, and on Brinkburn Road.
