Martinsville Police Department Promotes Road Safety with 'Traffic Tip – Hoodline

The Martinsville Police Department is providing Indiana drivers with reminders about traffic safety and local laws. As part of their “Traffic Tip Tuesday” initiative, the department shared tips on a social media post to help the community stay informed about road safety, especially during shorter daylight hours.

The department reminded drivers that under Indiana Code 9-21-7-3, headlights must be turned on whenever windshield wipers are in continuous use. Headlights are also required “any other time where persons and vehicles are not clearly visible at 500 feet due to insufficient light or bad weather,” according to the Martinsville Police Department.
The department added in their social media post, “The weather has been gloomy today and will be slightly worse tomorrow, let’s make sure we are creating a safe environment for our community to travel in!”
