
SAN PEDRO, Belize, May 2, CMC – The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has announced the winners of the 2026 Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Awards, highlighting innovation and leadership in the region’s push toward more sustainable and resilient tourism.
This year’s honourees, representing Belize, Guyana, Jamaica and the Turks and Caicos Islands, were recognised for advancing tourism practices that protect the Caribbean’s natural environment, strengthen communities and preserve cultural heritage.
The awards, which have been presented since 2000, celebrate individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions in areas such as environmental stewardship, community-based tourism and climate resilience.
The winners were announced during the CTO’s Sustainable Tourism Conference in Belize, where regional stakeholders gathered to share ideas and promote best practices across the industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, CTO’s Deputy Director of Sustainable Tourism, Narendra Ramgulam, said the awards reflect the region’s growing commitment to responsible tourism development.
“The Caribbean continues to demonstrate that tourism can be a powerful force for good, driving economic growth while protecting our natural and cultural heritage.”
He noted that the Caribbean continues to show that tourism can drive economic growth while safeguarding the region’s rich natural and cultural assets.
The awardees were recognised for their contributions during the ceremony and will also be featured in CTO’s regional database of sustainable and regenerative tourism best practices.
