Spurs star Victor Wembanyama returned to practice Thursday and is traveling with the team as he works his way through the NBA’s concussion protocol.
There is still no official update on his availability for Game 3.
Wembanyama did some light cardio work Wednesday night, reportedly without his concussion symptoms worsening.
The Spurs lost Wembanyama early Tuesday night after he took a hard, awkward fall and smacked his face directly onto the floor in Game 2 of their 106-103 loss to the Blazers. He is now in concussion protocol.
Elsewhere, Keldon Johnson was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the year.
He played in all 82 games, all off the bench, becoming only the second NBA player in the last decade to do that. He became the first Spurs player to score 1,000 points as a reserve in a season. And all year long, San Antonio touted him as the best backup in the league.
Coverage for Game Three on Newsradio 1200 WOAI gets underway at 8:30PM. The best of seven series is tied at one game apiece.
