A trusted property manager is now on the run after investigators say she siphoned hundreds of thousands of dollars from Martin County homeowners' associations to bankroll a lavish personal lifestyle.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant on Monday for the former property management bookkeeper, according to investigators.
Authorities say Alexandra Delacaridad Gonzalez, who worked as a property manager and bookkeeper for Avant-Garde Property Management, is facing a long list of felony charges tied to an alleged embezzlement scheme that spanned an extended period of time. Gonzalez is wanted on two counts of fraud exceeding $50,000, two counts of grand theft, 61 counts of uttering false instruments, and 59 counts of embezzlement. Her total bond has been set at $1.35 million.
According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, Gonzalez allegedly used her access to homeowners association accounts to write checks to herself while managing financial records for multiple HOAs. Investigators say she concealed the thefts by creating fictitious invoices, falsifying ledger entries, and forging the signatures of authorized account holders to make the transactions appear legitimate.
Subpoenaed financial records reportedly revealed that the stolen money was used for personal expenses, including shopping, vacations, and plastic surgery.

The alleged fraud came to light after irregularities were identified by the affected homeowner associations, which then reported the matter to the Sheriff’s Office. At this stage of the investigation, authorities have identified Whitemarsh Reserve Homeowners Association in Stuart and The Dunes of Hutchinson Island as confirmed victims.

Detectives believe additional homeowners' associations may have been impacted and are urging any HOA boards or members who suspect similar financial activity to come forward.
Gonzalez is not currently in custody. The Sheriff’s Office said she is believed to be in the Miramar or Vero Beach area, though her exact whereabouts remain unknown.
Anyone with information about Gonzalez’s location or about possible related financial crimes is asked to contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Tips can be submitted directly to law enforcement as the investigation remains ongoing.
