When 2 On Your Side’s crew got there around 1 p.m. on Monday, only one flight wasn’t cancelled for the afternoon, and we quickly found out by talking to people that it had just been cancelled and the board just wasn’t updated yet.
That was a flight to Orlando, but we also met a man waiting to be picked up by his daughter after his flight was cancelled. He was visiting her and his new grandson in Niagara Falls. Now he’s trying to get back to Richmond, Virginia. He got on his flight today, but it never took off.

“Plane boarded a few minutes late, but otherwise boarded. Pulled back. Said we have to go through de-icing because of the temperatures. De-icing is set up, they were plowing the runways, so runways were in good shape. But the winds were gusting. And they’re not allowed to, or they can’t put the de-icing material on the wings, at wind speeds over 40 miles an hour and it just wouldn’t drop below 40,” said Doug Holroyd.

So he waits. And that’s what a lot of people are doing. Waiting for rides or getting hotel rooms.
