Travel conditions will continue to be hazardous into Tuesday as another storm system moves into New Jersey beginning late Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service has issued a warning about black ice and freezing rain into Sunday in Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties, as temperatures remain well below freezing.
“Winds should remain on the lighter side, preventing some of the roads and other surfaces from drying out,” the forecast said. “Any existing areas of snowmelt could lead to black ice formation on area roadways, bridges, overpasses, and any untreated surfaces.”
Drivers are urged to slow down and allow extra time to travel through midday Sunday.
