Philadelphia has been named one of the best places to travel in 2026 by Travel + Leisure, for the city’s food scene and so much more.

As people continue brainstorming or finalizing travel plans for 2026, Travel + Leisure Editors have compiled a list of options and Philadelphia made the top 50 list.

Why?

“Philly these days is all about the innovative, award-winning chefs from around the globe who are making the city a must-experience food destination,” writes Jess Feldman for Travel + Leisure.

As more within the culinary industry seek to bring different flavors and vibes to the city’s dining scene, foodies are able to experience new models and cuisine styles.

Mawn is one of the restaurants leading the charge. The Southeast Asian-inspired noodle spot’s owner Phila Lorn won a James Beard Award this year.

Meanwhile, the all-day Mexican cafe La Jefa has been serving top-notch cocktails and chilaquiles.

There’s also Vetri Cucina, which has among the best pasta tasting menus you’ll find.

Philadelphia’s dining scene has more recently been receiving national acclaim, as it earned a spot in the Michelin Guide.

While the food certainly makes Philadelphia worth the trip in 2026, a multitude of events are also forthcoming, including six FIFA World Cup matches, America250 celebrations, the MLB All-Star Game, and more.
