Travel is ramping up for Thanksgiving week. Though the weather into the holiday should be mostly uneventful, snow chances increase heading into the weekend.
Thanksgiving: Mostly sunny, high of 39°
Friday: Mostly cloudy, 40% chance p.m. light snow, mainly in Iowa, high of 35°
As of Wednesday morning, snow/mix chances go up Friday afternoon and evening with any light accumulation mainly in Iowa.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, 80% chance of mix/snow, breezy, high of 34°
As of Wednesday night, a rain/snow mix is likely in the Omaha metro with a changeover to all snow at some point, then snow will likely continue through the afternoon. Expect travel impacts in eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa. Most of the area, including the Omaha metro, has the potential for 2 to 5 inches of snow. Higher amounts, 5 to 10 inches, are more likely east into central Iowa. Stay tuned for future updates.
