Airline updates: BA, Etihad, Ethiopian and more – The Business Travel Magazine

BCD Travel has launched British Airway’s new distribution capability (NDC) content. It means the TMC will have 22 airlines certified to its release standards and available for customers to book by the end of this year. Thane Jackson, SVP, Global Distribution Strategy & Supplier Management & Delivery BCD, said: “We worked together to make sure the British Airways NDC content met our certification criteria and the needs of our corporate customers. We’re very pleased with our long-term collaboration and partnership with British Airways and our ability to offer the best options for travellers.”
Advantage Travel Partnership and the Business Travel Association (BTA) have confirmed that their joint Corporate Travel Summit will return in 2026, taking place on Tuesday March 10 at The Leonardo Royal Hotel, London St Paul’s. Last year’s inaugural event attracted over 300 delegates, bringing together TMCs, buyers and partner suppliers. The 2026 event will feature approximately 100 partner suppliers.
Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines are strengthening travel ties between the UAE and Vietnam with the launch of a new codeshare partnership. The agreement enhances Etihad’s recently launched service between Abu Dhabi and Hanoi. Etihad guests can now access key domestic Vietnamese destinations as well as popular destinations across Asia, with the convenience of a single ticket for the entire journey, one check-in, and automatic baggage transfer throughout. 
The BTA has expanded its Executive Board with the appointment of Nikki Regan as Director. Regan is in the UK Executive Leadership Team at Direct ATPI, where she has spent nearly 15 years in senior roles. Her broader industry experience includes leadership positions at HRG, Amex GBT – where she held the position of Director of Traveller Care – and Gray Dawes Group, where she briefly served as interim MD.
Ethiopian Airlines has adopted Accelya‘s FLX Select, a rapid-to-deploy NDC (New Distribution Capability) service. FLX Select is part of Accelya’s FLX ONE platform, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Rahel Assefa, Group Vice President Marketing at Ethiopian Airlines, said: “Our adoption of FLX Select marks a pivotal step in delivering a more personalised global travel experience.”
