Tashkent has been included in the international travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler’s list of “Best places to visit in Asia in 2026.”

According to the ranking, the city attracts visitors with its unique blend of history and modernity. Ancient madrasas and traditional bazaars stand side by side with newly developed cultural spaces, creating a rich and distinctive atmosphere for travelers.
The publication highlighted that Tashkent is becoming a cultural tourism hub in Central Asia. The recent opening of the new Center for Islamic Civilization complex and the Center of Contemporary Art gallery is expected to make the city a destination where visitors can explore both ancient traditions and the modern art scene.
Tourists can combine excursions to historical landmarks with visits to modern exhibitions and events. Today, Tashkent appeals not only as a gateway to Uzbekistan’s beautiful regions but also as an independent travel destination in its own right.
Offering a vibrant cultural agenda and the unique atmosphere of a Central Asian capital, the city is emerging as a must-visit destination for those seeking new impressions and unconventional travel experiences.
In the first nine months of this year, more than 8.6 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan – an increase of 112.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Uzbekistan’s tourism industry continues to reach historic milestones.
By country, the tourist flow in 2025 grew significantly compared to the post-pandemic year 2022 – by 2.6 times from the United Kingdom, 6.2 times from Qatar, 3 times from the United States, 2.9 times from France, 2.1 times from Russia, 3.3 times from Hungary, 2.5 times from Germany, and 6.2 times from Poland. The export of tourism services also reached a record high of over $3.6 billion in 2025.
