Two shocking incidents on National Rail over the weekend have wreaked havoc on train travel across the UK
On Saturday evening, a knife rampage on an LNER service saw 10 people stabbed, with one victim remaining in critical condition.
Travel turmoil was once more exacerbated this morning following a train derailment in Cumbria, with ambulance services currently on the scene.

A fault with the signalling system in the Hatton area means that all lines are disrupted. As a result, trains running between Leamington Spa and Dorridge / Stratford-upon-Avon may be cancelled, delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 7pm.
The Central line is now providing a good service.

The station will close at 22:52 each evening. Last trains will call at 22:35 (from Heathrow Terminal 4 to Abbey Wood) and 22:50 (from Abbey Wood to Heathrow Terminal 5).

There’s no service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge all day to prevent damage to train wheels caused by expected significant leaf fall.
Earlier today, a train derailed between Penrith and Oxenholme Lake District, causing all lines between the two stations to be blocked. As a result, no trains are running between Carlisle and Preston.
Services in the affected area may be delayed by up to 120 minutes or cancelled, and passengers are strongly advised not to travel north of Preston today.
Severe disruption is expected to continue throughout the day.
A person has been hit by a train between Hackney Downs and Cheshunt. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted via Seven Sisters.Disruption is expected until 5pm.
Greater Anglia between London Liverpool Street and Hertford East / Stansted Airport / Cambridge North, and also between Stratford (London) and Meridian Water / Bishop’s Stortford
London Overground between London Liverpool Street and Enfield Town / Cheshunt
Stansted Express between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport
An object caught in the overhead wires at Sunderland has resulted in all lines being blocked. Trains passing through the station may face delays of up to 25 minutes, cancellations, or diversions.
Disruption is expected to continue until 4pm.
Traffic is slow moving along Gubbins Lane in both directions, Squirrels Heath Road has westbound queues, In addition Ardleigh Green Road has tailbacks in both directions. Lower Bedfords Road has slow moving traffic westbound. Expect an increase in vehicular traffic on local roads and in the wider area along A406, A13 and M11. Delays expected.
A train fault at Chafford Hundred has blocked the line. Consequently, services between Upminster and Grays via Chafford Hundred may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, or diverted.
Disruption is expected to continue until 1:30pm.
