Mexican Bills Mafia fans say visiting Buffalo is “life-changing” – WGRZ

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Bills Mafia comes from far and wide.
This weekend, one group made a 2,000 mile trek to Western New York. Fans from Mexico flew in to see Sunday’s home opener, but first, they’re getting the full Buffalo experience.
Forty-four fans from Mexico touching down in Buffalo for the trip of a lifetime. Their first stop was City Hall to see Buffalo from the top, before heading to Niagara Falls on Saturday. And of course, the main event is Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

This trip was organized by Bills House Mexico, a fan club in Mexico City that’s grown to more than 20,000 members. Every week, hundreds gather to watch games together, but the dream has always been to see the Bills right here in Buffalo.
“Seeing Buffalo is just amazing. It’s super nice, super clean. I’m really liking it a lot the City of Buffalo, and when I go to the match on Sunday, I know it’s going to be like life-changing,” said Diego Vargas, a Bills fan.
Added Jose Juan Mejia Santos, another Bills fan, as 2 On Your Side translated the interview from Spanish to English: “It’s emotional. When I see the Bills on TV, I almost want to cry. I can’t imagine how it’s going to feel in the home stadium.” 
Fans told 2 On Your Side they already heard about our Bills Mafia traditions, including breaking tables and the ketchup and mustard ceremony.
Whether or not they try them, one thing’s clear, Buffalo has already made them feel right at home.
