Buffalo, NY Fall Weather Tuesday: Strong Showers and Travel Delays Expected – Country Herald

Buffalo, NY – Western New York commuters should brace for a stormy Tuesday as heavy rain and thunderstorms threaten afternoon travel. Local officials urge drivers to plan ahead, especially on I-90 and area roadways where visibility may quickly deteriorate.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and storms are expected to begin mid-morning Tuesday, with the strongest downpours likely between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Some thunderstorms could bring gusty winds and localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Forecasters warn that ponding on roads may cause delays during the evening commute.

Tuesday’s high will reach near 73 degrees, but the unsettled weather will continue into Tuesday night with a 40% chance of showers. Rain totals could exceed half an inch in some spots.
Looking beyond Tuesday, the unsettled pattern holds. Wednesday will bring a high near 74 with scattered showers possible through the day. By Wednesday night, another round of rainfall is likely, with a 50% chance of storms. Thursday remains damp, with highs in the mid-70s and additional rain chances.
Friday will bring a noticeable cool-down. Forecast highs near 72 will pair with cloudy skies and occasional light rain, reminding Buffalo residents that fall weather has officially arrived. By Saturday, the chance of showers decreases, offering a brief break before more unsettled weather next week.
Western New Yorkers should monitor forecasts closely, prepare for slower commutes, and keep umbrellas ready as fall begins with a stormy stretch.
