NEVADA CITY, Nev. — A semi-truck carrying milk caught fire on I-80 westbound near mile marker 75, causing significant traffic delays, according to Nevada State Police. The incident happened just before 7 p.m., and a viewer reported being stuck in traffic for more than an hour as all westbound lanes were closed.
Nevada State Police said the fire started due to the brakes and then spread to the trailer. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and the fire has been extinguished.
One travel lane has been reopened, but the other lane will remain closed until further notice as crews work to clean up the scene.
