Through July 26, 2025, you can get a $50 statement credit when you spend $250 or more on a Budget rental in the U.S. — a solid discount that could come in handy during the busy (and pricey) summer travel months.

Budget Car Rental is out with a new Amex Offer that can save you up to 20% on your next rental car this summer.
When you spend $250 at Budget with an enrolled card, you can get a $50 statement credit. To receive the credit, you must activate this offer and make a single or multiple purchases totalling $250 or more by July 26, 2025.
If you were already planning on using your American Express card to pay for your car rental, this is a great offer to have. However, since primary rental car insurance doesn’t typically come with Amex cards, be aware that the temporary coverage costs between $12.25 and $24.95 for each rental period, up to 30 days.
Other cards
Other popular cards from issuers like Capital One and Chase offer primary rental car insurance, so you wouldn’t need to pay the extra fee if you use one of those.

Amex Offers are one of our favorite ways to save money (or earn bonus points) on purchases we were already planning on making.
Amex Offers are targeted, so if you don’t see the one you want on one card, check another. Or add some, log out, and then log back in to see if new offers were populated.
Once you add the offer to your card, read the fine print carefully and use your card as you normally would. Once your offer has been triggered, you will often get an email notification, and the statement credit or points should hit your account within 90 days, but sometimes sooner.
