Moreover, New York City and Los Angeles crank up the style, while Atlanta delivers hip-hop heat with Southern charm. This isn’t just a weekend—it’s a movement. And with Miami at the forefront, the stage is set for unforgettable nights that stretch into the sunrise.
The countdown is on. From July 25–28, 2025, South Beach will pulse with energy as the Miami Takeover (MTO) returns with its most exhilarating lineup yet. The multi-day cultural experience, known for honoring Black culture, art, and community, is positioned to become one of the year’s most impactful tourism and lifestyle events.

Backed by the Greater Miami Conventions and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority (MBVCA), MTO is now an official feature of the Art of Black Miami series. This partnership not only elevates the event’s prestige but also ties it deeper into the region’s mission of cultural preservation and economic empowerment.

A Mission Born from Legacy

At its core, the Miami Takeover is more than an event. It’s a movement. Founded by three HBCU-educated entrepreneurs from the Washington D.C. area, MTO crafts meaningful experiences for Black professionals and tastemakers across the country. These gatherings emphasize not only celebration but community uplift, intergenerational pride, and cultural authenticity.
The 2025 edition of MTO carries deeper emotional weight as it honors 50 years of Go-Go music—a genre born in D.C. but loved by the world. Anchoring the festivities is the Art of Go-Go Culture Fest, happening Saturday, July 26 at the historic Miami Beach Bandshell. Expect a powerful mix of live music, immersive art, and unforgettable performances from the genre’s most iconic artists.

Event Highlights: Where Culture Meets Experience

  • Splash Daytime Pool Party (3–9 p.m.): Close the weekend at The Backyard Pool Club at the Marseilles Hotel. A celebration of unity, reflection, and sun-soaked joy.

Community First, Always

While the events bring the dazzle, the heart of the Miami Takeover remains in its commitment to community. Whether through the Bright Futures dental initiative or the hands-on Beach Sweep, MTO blends purpose with pleasure. Organizers work closely with local nonprofits, city officials, and neighborhood leaders—including the Miami Beach Black Advisory Board—to ensure these efforts drive lasting impact.
Moreover, through this collaboration, MTO continues to advance socio-economic opportunities and educational engagement for Black communities in Miami-Dade County.

Tourism With Meaning

The Miami Takeover exemplifies a growing trend in destination tourism: blending entertainment with empowerment. Travelers today seek more than sightseeing. They want connection. Experience. Culture. MTO checks all those boxes, offering both locals and visitors a fully immersive experience that resonates on multiple levels.
City officials anticipate a significant boost in local revenue, hotel bookings, and restaurant activity. But beyond the numbers, the emotional currency MTO brings—especially to HBCU alumni and Afro-Caribbean communities—holds immeasurable value.

Why This Year Matters

The 2025 Miami Takeover is not just about marking a moment. It’s about making one. Celebrating Go-Go music’s 50th year, the legacy of Black entrepreneurship, and the power of community—all on one of the world’s most iconic beaches.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a loyal attendee, this year’s event promises to be something more. Something unforgettable. Because when culture, creativity, and cause converge, the result isn’t just a party—it’s a legacy
