The full route spans 351 miles from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, making 29 stops across six counties. Not only does the train serve some of California’s most sought-after coastal cities, but it also hugs the coastline nearly the entire route, offering spectacular seaside views of SoCal’s sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, and rolling hills.
The Amtrak Thruway Bus Service offers guaranteed seamless connections from Pacific Surfliner trains, meaning you can catch extended travel options north to Oakland and southeast to Indio.
